The online school for making a living through illustrations

FAQ

About Enrollment & Fees

Q1. How much is the tuition and what payment methods do you accept?

A. Tuition fees vary depending on the plan. Please check the latest prices on the “Plans & Pricing” page. We currently accept credit cards and some debit cards for payment.

Q2. Can I join in the middle of a term?

A. Yes, you can join at any time. Since all lessons are online, you can start whenever you’re ready.

Q3. If I quit halfway through, can I get a refund?

A. As a rule, payments are non‑refundable. However, if there is a serious issue on our side, such as a system failure, we will review the situation and respond individually.

About Course Content & Levels

Q4. I’m a beginner. Will I be able to keep up?

A. Absolutely. We start from the very basics, such as how to use your tools, how to draw clean lines, and how to apply color. The curriculum is designed step by step.

Q5. I’m already working as a professional illustrator. Is there still any benefit for me?

A. Yes, there are. For professional illustrators, lectures such as “What kind of illustration brings in a lot of work?”, “How should you approach branding?”, and “How to negotiate with clients” will be especially useful.

Q6. Are the lessons mainly focused on analog techniques or digital techniques?

A. The training is mainly analog-based. However, if the instructor determines that digital methods are more suitable, you will proceed digitally. In addition, the branding lectures are useful regardless of whether you work in analog or digital media.

Q7. What equipment do I need?

A. To complete the assignments, you will need a computer, scanner, printer, and smartphone. If you create illustrations digitally, you will also need drawing software. However, with the “Light” plan, you only read the lectures, so no equipment is required.

Q8. What analog art materials do I need?

In the Standard Plan and Pro Plan, students will submit assignments using analog art materials. As a general rule, you are free to choose the materials you use. We offer a similar course in Japan, and students have created assignments using a wide range of materials, including transparent watercolor, acrylic paint, acrylic gouache, and colored pencils.

About Learning Style and Support

Q9.  Will there be corrections or feedback on assignments?

A. Yes. Instructors will provide feedback on submitted assignments. They will give specific comments on what was good and what to focus on next, helping you steadily improve through each assignment.

Q10. Where can I ask questions? Is there a limit to the number of questions I can ask?

A. Questions can be asked within the online community. There is no set limit, as long as the number of questions remains within a reasonable range. However, if the number of questions is excessive, we may need to place a limit on them. Please note that questions cannot be asked under the “Light” plan. Students enrolled in the “Plus” or “Standard” plans may ask questions and seek advice.

Q11. Is there a community or a place where students can interact with one another?

A. Yes. There is an online community exclusively for students. Through sharing work, exchanging feedback, and casual conversation, students can connect with others who share the same goals. It is also a useful place for maintaining motivation.

About Work and Careers

Q12. I have never received an illustration job before. Can I also learn how to get work?

A. Yes. We plan to offer lectures on practical methods for getting your “first job,” including how to create and present your portfolio, as well as the basics of sales and promotion. However, those lectures will likely be uploaded a little later.
